Biography of Prakash Saput

The actual name of Prakash Saput is Prakash Bishwakarma. He is a Nepalese singer, songwriter, model, and actor renowned for his contributions to Nepali folk music. He is well-known for using music to raise social and political issues which exist in our society. Since he was a child, he has enjoyed singing and dancing at village events. When he was younger, he wanted to be an actor. He also worked as a radio DJ for Dhaulagiri FM, where he aired a show called Just for You.

Career

Prakash Saput migrated to Kathmandu where he continued his singing career. Saput released his debut album in 2011. ‘Gari Khana Deu’, his debut song, addressed social issues. His debut release, ‘Musu Musu Na Hasa’, was a folk tune. Nearly a decade later, he gained mass recognition with the release of ‘Dohori Battle’ in 2018.

Prakash Saput released the song ‘Bola Maya’ in 2018. His song ‘Galbandi Chyatiyo’ got a lot of love and admiration from audience in 2019. Later he released ‘Phuteka Chura’ in 2020. The song ‘Mero Pani Haina Ra Yo Desh’ that he released in 2021 was related to patroitism. Additionally, he released ‘Kura Bujhnu Parcha’ in 2021, ‘Pir’ in 2022, and ‘Sakambari’ in 2023. In 2024, he has released ‘Mutu Katakkai’. Further, he also wrote the song ‘Bujhina Maile’ of recently released movie Boksi ko Ghar. He also starred in movie ‘Pardeshi 2’ in 2023. And now he is all set to release a new movie, ‘Basanta’ in 2024.

Achievements of Prakash Saput

The Nepal Tourism Board appointed Prakash Saput as a Goodwill Ambassador (Gandaki Province) for Visit Nepal 2020. He was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for the Nepalese government’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority in 2021. The Government of Nepal gave him the Janasewa Shri in 2022 for his remarkable contribution to Nepali music.
