Sombare Aaunshi and The Earthquake

We are here to begin the coincident about sombare aaunshi and the Earthquake that occurred on Magh 2, 1990. Let us also remember today as the day of the 1990 earthquake and connect it with the significance of sombare aaunshi.
On Magh 2, 1990, at 8:4 on the Richter scale, Nepal was hit by a massive earthquake. That day happened to be no moon day either. So, it was Monday that day. Also, on that day, the seven celestial bodies – Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Rahu were in a single zodiac sign, Capricorn.

Today is also Monday. After the Earthquake, Monday and Bauchi were observed with fear and anxiety, but that’s not all. The significance and importance of Monday have been continuous and unbroken for centuries.

This occasion is considered auspicious for bathing and giving charity. On this day, devotees flock to various pilgrimage sites for bathing. According to Hindu believers, today’s ‘Monday Aaunshi’ date is considered an auspicious coincidence or destiny. It is said that even the characters from the Mahabharata could not attain the date of ‘Monday Aaunshi’ in their lifetimes.

In the mythological era, ‘Monday Aaunshi’ were rare, but with the beginning of the Kali Yuga, the dates of ‘Monday Aaushi’ on Earth started increasing. In the Kali Yuga, many auspicious ‘Aaushi’ occur on the Moon to provide devotees with more opportunities for salvation and righteousness. So, what can be done for religion and generosity this Monday, Aaushi?

The day on which Monday falls is called sombare aaushi. According to our calendar, Monday falls every seven days, and every month has one aaushi. However, the coincidence of Monday and aaushi occurs only occasionally. Monday aaushi occurs once or twice a year.

According to Hindu scriptures, remaining silent, bathing, and meditating on this day brings merit. Monday is the day of the Moon. The Moon is a symbol of the mind and also of the brain. Monday is also considered as the day of Lord Shiva, and today is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
