Prithvi Highway Landslide: One-Way Traffic Resumes

A landslide at Mauwakhola of Ichchhakamana rural municipality-3 blocked the Prithvi Highway, but now one-way traffic has resumed, and the area inspector Nirala Bhandari stated that clearing the highway and resuming the two-way path will take some time.

On July 11, 2024, early in the morning, a landslip in Chitwan’s Prithvi Highway caused a roadblock. Because of the heavy rain in Chitwan, it is challenging for an excavator to remove the landslip. The workers will take some time to clean the roadway, though.

There is reason for concern since this heavily used and landslide-prone route passes through five districts: Kathmandu, Dhading, Chitwan, Tanahu, and Kaski. If they don’t clean the highway soon, there might be serious consequences.

Rainfall started during the road’s renovation. The rainfall which frequently resulted in mudslides and traffic jams on one of the nation’s busiest roadways. Hopefully, they clear the highway soon.
